Skin Prick Testing

The videos below give a detailed explanation of the process of skin prick testing and how the results are interpreted. Skin prick tests are not diagnostic which means that they cannot confirm or rule out an allergy. The results of the skin prick testing have to be considered carefully in combination with the history and examination.

Not all children require skin prick testing!

Taking antihistamines in the 4 days prior to skin prick testing will affect the results of the test. If you are insure about if and when to stop antihistamines be sure to check with you health professional prior to attending the clinic.
