At certain times, some children with food allergy may need medical and lifestyle support in addition to that offered by standard management.
This may involve a team of health or social care professionals, e.g. consultants in paediatric allergy [children's allergies], dermatology [skin], respiratory disease [chest], gastroenterology [digestive system] and ENT [ear, nose and throat], and specialist dieticians, social workers and psychologists.
These people should work together to help you with all aspects of your child's allergy and share information with one another about your care by email, phone and/or letter.
They will communicate with your GP/ primary care team. It may also be useful for them to communicate with your child's school or nursery.
